Short and Sweet: What I'm Thankful For Tonight
Sometimes short and sweet is better than long and windy. Not to mention the fact that today has been a long day and I'm beat. But there have been a few things that I just wanted to say in my blog that I haven't taken the time to do until now. So here goes.....
I would just like to say how blessed I am to be able to jump in an airplane early in the morning, slip my houseshoes on while I'm flying (yes, I really do that), sip on my wonderful-tasting, hot instant coffee that tastes better than most more expensive coffees I've had, sing along to the oldies once I'm awake enough to do so, and look out at the beautiful scenery below. What a ride! Ten years ago, maybe even five years ago, I wouldn't have thought I'd be doing this--and getting paid for it--but it's true. And what's more, never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be flying a plane with my comfy and stinky houseshoes on! Woohoo!! And to think they call me Kamikaze Phillips :)
If I can figure out how to do it, I'm also going to post a poem that I wrote a few years ago and I feel really applies to me now. We'll see how smart the Shannon is in just a few minutes....

btw...how's buffalo?
Actually I was in Buffalo one night and then got shipped over to Syracuse. I'm sort of like your favorite band, Green Day. I travel from one place to another....Norfolk, VA; Millville, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Buffalo, NY; Syracuse, NY.....yep, just like those guys. Only without the roadies or trekkies or bandies--whatever all those chicks are called that follow a band around. And I can't play the guitar good, and even though I can hold a tune, I'm not a great singer. And when I fly, I don't have a huge crowd just going crazy over me--though I do have really good friends that take an interest in me, and for that I'm very thankful as well. So, other than all that, I'm just like Green Day touring around from city to city :)
